T316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel
SecureView selects T316 marine grade stainless steel mesh over its inferior T304 commercial grade counterpart. T316 has a higher MPA strength of 940, which means a stronger wire more closely woven to deliver optimum strength, ventilation and insect exclusion. The open area on SecureView mesh is measured at 42.71% with an aperture of 1.575mm, as opposed to 1.710mm used in T304 mesh. SecureView’s T316 marine grade stainless steel mesh is better suited to the Australian exterior environment, particularly in coastal regions, due to its resistance to corrosion, particularly to pitting corrosion in chloride enviroments. SecureView’s stainless steel mesh is fire rated for bushfire areas and is made to the following stringent specifications:
- T316 Marine Grade High Tensile Stainless Steel
- 0.8mm / 940 Mpa
- 11 x 11 strands per sq inch (25.2mm)
- Wire Mesh (ISO9044 / ASTM E2016-06)
- Coating Interpon Polyster, 10,000 hours salt spray
- Opening area 42.71%
- Testing (AS3715-2002, AAMA2603-05, AAMA2605-05, AS2331/ISO2360, ASTM D2794, AS3715, ISO1519, JIS Z2241, ASTM E1086)
3M™ VHB™ Acrylic Adhesive (Highly Evolved Fixing System)
SecureView’s design intentionally avoids mechanical fixings, instead opting for a combination of 3M VHB Acrylic Adhesive technology and a pressurised two-part PVC wedge. 3M VHB delivers exceptional durability, absorbing violent impacts over the full sq/m of the frame, while the two-part PVC wedge system provides clear spacing between the stainless steel mesh and aluminium frame to eliminate the occurrence of galvanic corrosion experienced in mechanically fixed screw or riveted systems.
3M VHB acrylic adhesive specifications:
- Thickness: 0.80mm +/- 50um
- Density: 800kg per cu. m. +/- 100kg
- Tensile strength: 6,500gf per sq/cm
- Shear strength: 6,500gf per sq/cm (after 24 hours)
- Peel strength: 3,700gf per 25mm (180°)
- Temperature resistance: 160° C
PVC Wedge specifications:
- UV Stabilised
- Designed and made in Queensland for Australian conditions

Innovative Keyway Fixing System
Our unique two-part wedge system has been designed to create the precise pressure required to activate the 3M VHB adhesive to its full potential. Both wedges are made from UV stabilised PVC to yield superior durability over time. Unlike screw-clamp or riveted systems, SecureView uses innovative technology that provides clear spacing between the stainless steel mesh and aluminium frame in order to eliminate the opportunity for galvanic corrosion, which occurs when dissimilar metals contact.
Aluminium Frame
SecureView frames are crafted with the architectural alloy temper of 6063 T5 in accordance to AS/NZS1866:1997. Particular design attention has been paid to the wall thickness in key stress areas and solid aluminium corner stakes are used to fortify each corner join.
Interpon™ powdercoating ensures SecureView frames match the latest Australian colours including the popular Colorbond™ range. Applied to AS3715 – 2002 to deliver extended product durability. OnlineSecurityScreens.com.au boasts a huge range of 34 classic colours including wood effect.
